The frame you get chosen by, in a grid of forty near-identical products.

ChatGPT (vision) / Claudemain imagesearch resultslisting
You design listings. Review or design the main image.

Product: {what it is}
What the photo shows now: {describe or attach}
Competitors in the grid: {how their photos look}
What sets you apart: {the property}

Work through:
1. What survives at 200 pixels: the silhouette, the colour, one detail. Nothing more fits, and that is where the choice happens.
2. How your frame differs from its neighbours in the grid. If everyone is on white from the same angle, difference beats beauty.
3. Whether the product fills the frame. A small object in a large field looks cheaper than it is.
4. Whether text belongs on the photo and which text. One word or one number at most, and only where the platform allows it.
5. What to remove: props, shadows, a distracting background, a second product in frame.
6. Three versions to test: different angle, different scale, with and without text.
7. How to compare honestly: screenshot the grid, paste your versions into it, and look from across the room.

Point 7 is mandatory. A photo judged alone always looks fine; it has to be judged in a row of other people's.

At thumbnail size it is a dark rectangle — no silhouette. Rotate 20 degrees and it gains volume. Everyone in the grid is on white. Use light grey: it separates without looking foreign. Remove: the branch and the stones. Props become dirt at thumbnail size. Text: "500ml" in the corner — that is the question asked most often in chat.
